charles patterson

writer + political biker

tuanHere at jungle[8], Charles Falk Patterson is in charge. He leads our writing team with a strong background in writing, no bullshit, assertive style of writing, and an articulate opinion on almost any topic, as long as it’s related to anything on two wheels, from mountain biking, to off-road motorcycling, to motocross. He holds a BA in American Literature from UCLA, which is a surprise, he says, considering he slept through most of his classes. If jungle[8] were on a safari expedition, Charles would be the first one to don a pit helmet and jump into the trenches, ready with an opinion on any pertinent topic, with a dry wit and edgy style.

Between expeditions to Baja and fishing trips he found time to write his first book, “Mountain Bike! Los Angles County: A Wide Grin Guide”. Charles is a true LA native, growing up in the jungles of Topanga. He believes TV is high culture, and under “religious views”, he would probably put “History Channel, TLC or Gangland”, and his favorite website is “stuffwhitepeoplelike.com”. Unlike most of the jungle[8] team, he has no pets, unless you include his motorcycle, whom he grooms and takes for walks regularly.
